  • They have the highest level of training and knowledge, and their labor rates may reflect this

Hyundai Maintenance Pricing & Schedules

Hyundai automobiles and SUVs from South Korea are known for their famous 10-year/100,000-mile warranty. Depending on the model, they are built in the United States or in South Korea and have a reputation for reliability and value that is on par with some of their Asian rivals. To achieve such reliability, it is necessary as an owner to properly maintain the vehicle. As a result, Hyundai has a prescribed service schedule that will keep your Hyundai vehicle running like new.

Hyundai Maintenance Guidelines

Hyundai’s maintenance guidelines are designed so owners will know when to perform specific tasks involving inspection or replacement of a fluid, components, windshield wipers and other expendable items that are necessary for the proper operation of your vehicle.

By following the Hyundai guidelines, owners will be aware of all aspects of their maintenance schedules.

6,000 or 7,500-Miles

For example, with certain engines in the lineup, the manual calls for service intervals of 6,000- or 7,500-miles, depending on the version found under your hood.

As part of this regularly scheduled maintenance, Hyundai mechanics will change the vehicle’s synthetic oil and oil filter, as well as rotate the tires, and replace the in-cabin air filter. The rest of the service call involves a multi-point inspection to examine brake pads and the engine’s air filter. Additionally, they will check the wipers, tire pressure, inspect for fluid leaks, and provide a visual inspection of the suspension and chassis components.

Every 7,500 Miles

This service continues at 15,000 –, 22,500 –, 30,000 –, and so on, for every 7,500 miles. It’s always a good idea to follow the Hyundai owner’s manual to stay abreast of what other services will be performed at your local dealership.

Extended Warranty and Maintenance Plans

Hyundai offers a standard vehicle warranty that offers 5-years/60,000-miles of comprehensive coverage, and 10-years/100,000-miles of powertrain coverage. Still, that does not absolve an owner of having to properly maintain their vehicle.

Hyundai Complimentary Maintenance

Hyundai Complimentary Maintenance is available for new 2020 Hyundai models purchased on or after Feb. 1, 2020, and covers oil changes and tire rotations at normal intervals outlined in each vehicle’s owner’s manual. These services include normal interval oil and oil filter changes, and tire rotations.

Hyundai Pre-Paid Maintenance Plan

For owners wanting to expand their coverage, Hyundai offers their Pre-Paid Maintenance plan, which includes oil and filter changes at each 7,500-mile interval. It is available in three levels including basic (oil and filter changes), “Maintenance with Tire Rotations,” and “Scheduled Maintenance” which includes the replacement of filters, HSG Belt, transmission fluid changes, spark plugs, and more. The plans are customizable, depending on your driving style and can extend up to 7 years/105,000 miles.

Hyundai Vehicle Service Contract (VCS)

For service that goes beyond the traditional five year/60,000-mile service interval, Hyundai owners can subscribe to the optional Hyundai Vehicle Service Contract (VCS) plan with additional coverage for approved repairs. Maintenance plans exist that extend comprehensive vehicle coverage out to 10-years/100,000 miles. If a covered breakdown occurs, you will have access to Hyundai certified service technicians for more than 1,500 parts at any Hyundai dealership. Towing, road service, trip interruptions, rental car reimbursement and coverage transferability provide added value to the plans. Other terms and conditions apply.

The program extends the warranty life of the engine, transmission, drive axle, turbochargers, transfer case, steering, braking, electrical, audio, navigation, air conditioning and many other components.
