“Dealer” refers to service centers that specialize in one or two makes and sell those vehicles. As a franchise dealer:
  • They use top-quality manufacturer-recommended or “official” parts
  • Parts usually come with a manufacturer's warranty - ask the dealer about this as details may vary
  • They have the highest level of training and knowledge, and their labor rates may reflect this

Total Estimate:

$0 - $0

Labor

$365 - $410

“Independent” refers to a service center that services multiple makes instead of specializing. In addition:

  • Because they can use non-official or aftermarket parts, their pricing might seem lower
  • Independents tend to be generalists with a broad level of knowledge and training on many vehicles

About Wheel Alignment

BulletIcon
Alignment is the process of making sure all 4 wheels point in the same direction, which will cause the vehicle to drive straight and not drift. Performing this service regularly (yearly or after the vehicle starts drifting) will extend the life of your tires. Alignment is measured in degrees of camber (tire leaning inward or outward), caster (forward or backward slope of steering components in relation to the McPherson struts) and toe (the direction the tires are pointing). Toe-in means that the tires are pointing inward; toe-out means that the tires are pointing outward. Most vehicles are “averaged” for everyday driving.

Porsche Maintenance Pricing & Schedules

Porsche. There is no substitute. With that, a few hundred race wins, and a cameo in a little movie called “Risky Business,” starring Tom Cruise, a legend was extended. Along the way, Porsche has gone from building sports coupes and convertibles to a complete lineup that includes sedans, SUVs and more. A Porsche owner is likely to build a legend of their own and that can’t happen without a properly maintained vehicle. That’s why Porsche has compiled the following service schedule. It’s only with proper care and maintenance that your Porsche will continue to have no substitute.

Porsche Maintenance Guidelines

Porsche vehicles are automatically enrolled in the company’s 4-year/50,000-mile warranty plan. They are also covered by a 12 year/unlimited mileage warranty for rust and perforation. Model year 2018 Porsche vehicles include a complimentary first service for an oil change and more.

10,000 Miles or 12 Months

Following that period, Porsche recommends a synthetic oil change every 10,000 miles or 12 months, whichever occurs first. At the same time, your Porsche mechanic will inspect and if needed, replace the engine air filter, the cabin air filter, check the tire condition and pressure inspection as well as the brake pads and brake rotors.

Extended Warranty and Maintenance

Porsche Scheduled Maintenance Plan (PSMP)

The Porsche Scheduled Maintenance Plan (PSMP) allows you to continue to maintain your Porsche the way the factory would. There are four plans offered through PSMP for 2017 Porsche vehicles. Each is customized to cover critical mileage periods of 2 years/20,000 miles, 3 years/30,000 miles, 4 years/40,000 miles or 5 years/50,000 miles, from the first date of vehicle delivery. Beginning with Model Year 2018, the first maintenance will be included with the purchase of the vehicle. The current PSMP plans are being revamped to accommodate for this additional benefit.

If you are leasing your Porsche, it may make sense to enroll, as it will cover maintenance for the term of the lease. For those who generally buy and keep their Porsche vehicles for longer periods of time, it gives you the opportunity to lock in the price of the scheduled service for a period that extends out to as much as five years. Service is available at any Porsche Dealership in the United State and is transferable to a subsequent private buyer. The pricing is negotiated at time of vehicle purchase and gives buyers the opportunity to roll this extra cost into their payment plan.

Porsche Vehicle Service Protection program (PVSP)

Porsche offers an extended Vehicle Service Protection program (PVSP) with extended warranty coverage options stretching out to 10 years/100,000 miles. The plan, that can be rolled into your vehicle financial payments, covers such items as engine, transmission, climate control, shocks, suspensions, steering brakes, as well as fuel systems, navigation items and other in-car electronics.

On the pre-owned side, Porsche Certified Pre-Owned vehicles can be purchased for 2 years/100,000 miles, once the original warranty period has expired. Service can be arranged at any Porsche partner around the world.
